I miss NMOA
Great trailer!!
How could you miss his baboon!
How can a person be this gifted? Here in Africa you see this fabric everyday wrapped around women as aprons or as intricate outfits. Never thought I would see the fabric in portraiture.
wow wow wow!! so much to pull from this!! I love the deep dive on this piece! In quarantine, I started working on a canvas collage using a photo of my aunt and me in 1984. It's very much inspired by Bisa Butler and Danielle Scott's work. Amazing this is what Bisa did with her time in quarantine! LOVE the "take care of you" on Grandpa. I miss my grandparents so much. They should be cherished!! and the thoughtfulness and care in creating the little boy. That is such a smart analysis of the children really at the translators and assimilators for migrant families. This has me thinking of my family's great migration from Virginia to New York.
I attended one of Danielle's virtual workshops during the pandemic. They talked us through their process of creating a photo collage piece honoring one of their ancestors. Danielle's work inspired me to create my own canvas collage using a 1984 pic of my aunt holding a baby version of me 🥰 I'm still working on it but I hope to be finished by my aunt's birthday in June. Danielle is such a dope artist!! It was a blessing to have art as an outlet in quarantine. 💛
This is beautiful. The fact that the images look 3D also makes this work stand out. I live in southern Africa and this artwork really speaks to my culture coz of the use of Kente/Kitenge fabric.
What a great class! Thank you!
Fantastic! Thank you.
Awesome work!!!♥️♥️❤
We need a Louis Bamberger for Black People we are being persecuted by Caucasians like the Jews were persecuted by the Germans
Don’t get me wrong: The two Dalí museums in Figueres, Spain and St. Petersburg, Florida are indeed worth visiting!
Hi is the actual piece available anywhere to watch?
lovely
Hi, I have a small lacquer hand carved base in red it looks almost burgundy ,it haves many beautiful details it is like it haves a story. I want to sell.
I just picked up the first book of the two about two months ago, they had a few copies at the bookstore in Huntington, LI NY, here. I couldn't walk out without it! I didn't realize the second volume was out as well. I'll get both. I was at the Isamu Noguchi Museum in Queens last week, finally made it there. Of course Calder and Noguchi had some friendship for awhile, early on. Every page of the first book on Calder "Conquest of Time" is packed with interesting stuff! The text is just as compelling as the plates.
Sandys father did a beautiful sculpture in downtown Indianapolis, worth checking out. Thank you for the video.
I saw the fllm on DVD,it is a great film but it only gave you a glimpse or touched the surface of Amiri Baraka and family humane contributions to the world.Baraka was responsible for providing engineers and skill workers to Tanzania.Yes ,the film was a success, yet it will take a Movie to do justice.Baraka set the example of what a Poet is ,and all these Rappers should study his path, his foot steps.
'Promo sm' 🤔
I can't believe these beautiful portraits are stitched into a quilt. What a fabulous piece of art work. I love it!
❤❤❤
Excellent talk, thank you!
Fabulous!..the Newark building, if you will, a beauty in hibernation..waiting to recognized in a new..(ahem)..light..well, Mr. Smith does not disappoint in his LED pas de deux with the Museum. Bravo!

Beautifully and emotionally inspiring!
Awesome deep dive into this great historic house. I grew up in Newark and have toured this house many times since childhood. Thank you for your insight!
THANKS for this! The documentary is quite an accomplishment and I appreciate the recording and posting of this panel!
Fantastic video!
Her presentation is excellent and inspiring.
That was very impressive. I hope to visit someday. 👍🏾
Stunning, thoughtful, brilliant, impeccable work! Just….wow!
Absolutely stunning, thoughtful, brilliant work!
so fantastic to have this documentation of villa's practice T__T <3
the speaker repeatedly mispronounces Avalokiteshvara, missing the "tay" in the middle (This is the Sanskrit name of this boddhisattva, in Tibetan he is called Chenresi - perhaps easier to pronounce :) )
😁 Promo'SM.
❤
Her work is magnificent. I have never seen artwork with such intensity. Are you ever going to have a show in New York? I want to feast my eyes on these beauties to experience the full effect.
Love the story of the horse on the boy's pants! As a quilter, you make me love our art even more - keep sharing! Also, I was born in Orange and grew up in Essex & Hudson counties!
Literally popped up after watching a beginners quilting video. I am stunned at this, just breathtaking. I can only stare as each person seems to come alive from the quilt, patterns, colors. It’s looks 3-D, I think.
This is absolutely amazingly beautiful. So talented.
Excellent programming ideas and public engagement!
My apologies I mistakenly said in response to the audience member question about King's other ties to Newark, that King was introduced to the Democratic Party by Donald Payne. It was William Payne and he introduced him at an NAACP conference.
Thanks so much 🙏
